Considering the delay of this entry posting, I’m going to keep it short and sweet.  A journey along Pacific Coast Highway added time to our trip, but was inconsequential, given the beauty of Northern California’s coastline and scattered, eclectic coastal villages.  After passing through Stinson Beach, we took a friend’s suggestion and stopped, around dusk, at Bolinas, a quirky little town with a shabby chic Main Street.  After having a wonderful dinner in a cafe located across the street from a faded, white-washed, two-story pool hall/bar/hotel, we continued on to Santa Rosa for a cheap hotel stay.

The next three days brought us great camping and hiking at Bodega Bay (setting used for Hitchcock’s “The Birds”), Ft. Ross State Park (site of the Russian-American Company, an agricultural settlement that provided food to Alaska in the late 19th and early 20th centuries), Manchester State Park, and Redwoods State Park (Prairie Creek campground).  We also saw a little of Sebastipol (a good sized Northern CA city situated about 1.5 hrs north of San Francisco and 45 min. east of the coast), where we drove from Bodega Bay to catch the 1st Magic/Lakers game.  Go Magic!
