Jab on the bum!!

I arrived in Corrientes in the wee hours of the morning, after 12+ hours on a coach. I have been managing to collect bites, bites from sleeping in sheets that have irritated my skin, bites from mossies and even from bloody flies! Which when your tired, and they begin to itch it is really irritating. Yesterday, I actually saw a fly land on my hand and bite me as I was enjoying a pleasant stroll in the park. The bite came up like a nettle sting. Moaning to Orhan that I had zillions of bites (being the hypercondreact and after some sympathy) I was moaning that I have bites on my arms hands and even face! Granted nothing in comparison to when I visited the jungle. However, when getting off the coach this morning I noticed my left hand was swollen- have you see the Nutty professor? my left hand looks like Mr. Love's turning back into the professos! I kid you not.
Today has been dedicated to trying to do something about my abnormal left hand. I went to a chemist and asked for antibiotics, then visited another to see what they recommended they gave me allergy tablets and said I should not be taking the ones I had already brought. By the time I visit the 3rd chemist ...a pharmacy crawl (seeking some professional knowledge and an English speaker) my hand was very hot to touch and was still swelling and they recommend to go to the hospital! A little panicked I decided to find the grandest hotel I could, where I assumed I would find an English speaker and I did! They were very obliging and even called out the doctors to the hotel (I had to pretend I was a guest there). I have been prescribed a 7 day course of antibiotics, sent away with a pack of ice and I received a jab in the arse!
Picture this: a female doctors chatting away, a translator with pigeon English I am then whisked away to a room and for a terrible moment I thought I was going to end up with a depository! The female nurse who I had my consultancy with disappeared so did the female receptionist. I was left with the male doctor. I had to lye on the hotel bed and get a bum cheek out for him to jab. (One has to look at the funny side! It was hard not to giggle)
So between icing my hand I haven´t explored much of Corrientes, and am likely to stay here for at least two days to keep an eye on my nutty professor hand! Typical to happen here as the price of accomodation is triple what I have been paying up to now, doh! Still looking on the bright side, I have my own double bed and bathroom a change from a room of bunkbeds!And I have had the excuse to eat ice cream tubs all day, serving the duel purpose of icing my hand and trying new flavors. I will give you a better account of Corrientes when I get the chance to explore.
