The School Festival was interesting this year. Every year the school puts on some kind of performance around this time of year. So last year was the sports day. This year was a bunkasai (cultural festival) I think if I understand things right next year it will be some like Arts performance. So this year each class did something to their classroom. Some students made movies. Other decorated their classroom like a summer festival and had games and prizes. Some classes worked together and made food, cookies and soba. Other students covered their classrooms with cardboard, newpaper, and black plastic bags which became mazes, haunted houses, or amusement rooms. It was fun to walk around and see all the work the students had done. Some of the classes did similar things like there were a few haunted houses and planetariums. But it was still neat. The kids really get excited about this day (actually two days this year) one day was for just mostly students, and the other day families and friends came. The kids put a lot of work into it all and it turned out pretty good. The after festival was fun as well, although similar to last year. The students did different dance performances and short skits. It was a good day. Enjoy the pictures!
