This thing has become my nemisis. So much to write about, not enough time to sit down and write it. Yes, I still have pics and things to comment on from India- but things have been happening here as well. Must share them quickly! Two weekends ago the cherry blossoms bloomed in Okinawa! It is the first place in all of Japan for this to happen! They were beautiful! And they bloom all over Japan until May! Wow! Last weekend was the Turks birthday (aka the beautiful and wonderful yasemine) good times were had at a cabin up north! She entertained and cultured us all with her belly dancing! Wish I could do that- wow again! Ah also last weekend ran in a little "relay" marathon with some of my teachers. I was only suppose to run 2.4 km but I started running and then got a crazy idea in my head that I should try to finish the run. I think about 12 km in all! It was a good run with my teachers driving along side me to cheer me on! Next one is in March and this one actually counts- guess i better start training! This week on Tuesday I happened upon an interesting little basketball game at school in which my high school was playing a high school from one of the bases. I discovered that my girls team is one of the best in Okinawa and it was quite amusing to watch them stomp all over these girls that were on average 5 inches taller than them! Hehe- sports stereotypes do not exisist for me anymore! Trying to learn Japanese and spend lots of time with my teachers and students so all is well and good here!
