Day 29
This morning we woke up around six o'clock preparing to head towards Seattle, Washington. After breakfast we made our way to the showers which to our dismay failed to accommodate our big group. We quickly re-entered our buses and went to Church. We were a few minutes late so we joined the church congregation as quietly and respectfully as we possibly could. After Mass we were greeted with warm welcomes from the church community. Many of the people were very impressed with our accomplishments on the trip and the whole trip in general. The Superintendant of Mount Ranier even introduced himself to us and asked us about our experience in the Park. He even stopped by and received a quick tour of one of our buses. Like others, he appreciated the quality of our USA Study Tour.
After Church, we set forth to Seattle, Washington. A person from the Mass informed us about a special event in Seattle known as "The Bite of Seattle". This event was composed of music, entertainment, food, desserts, gift shops and numerous amounts of people of various races. A variety of tasty foods were available including hot dogs, curry chicken, parmesan heroes, ice cream, freshly squeezed lemonade, corn on the cob, strawberry shortcakes, and of course salmon of all different preparations. We were given three and a half hours to dine, shop, and call home. Our 5:30 meeting point was at 1st Street and Pike where the market area in Seattle was based along with the original Starbucks founded in 1909.
When our exploration through Seattle ended, we mounted the bus and went to the KOA located in Burlington. After sleeping in bear country and mosquito lane, we were all overly enthusiastic about camping at a KOA. This particular KOA had a swimming pool, a weight room, a laundromat, free showers, a playground, a food mart and a basketball hoop. It was truly paradise. For dinner we ate chicken and croissants with a side salad.
After dinner we held our daily reflection prayer. Today's reflection was dedicated to sleep. Rest and relaxation are two desires all shared by us. Brian Luger and Liz Perrotta read the prayers prepared by Bro. Nigel and Ms Stiglic. Preceeding the prayer, we all climbed into our sleeping bags for our last night in the United States this week.
