From Tulip Inn to Hotel Estherea
What we did:
So no hurried breakie this morning as we are finished the Cosmos part of our tour
. We slept late, ate late and I caught up on the blog. After a 22 minute cab ride from Tulip Inn in Amsterdam West
we arrived in our new hotel Estheréa at 1:52. The driver drove his Mercedes van very fast and often in what appeared to be the bus lane and for the price of a 30 Euros Wonderland ticket.
How appropriate that the stunning Dutch jewel named Estheréa is found in the world's diamond centre, Amsterdam. From the moment you walk into the vestibule and it’s beautiful wood and glass automatic doors slide open you’re captivated by it’s beauty. Every room is gorgeous, a feast for the eyes and when you get to your room the beauty continues. After a bit we went to the front desk recommended restaurant "Broodje Bert" or Bert’s Sandwich for a late lunch. Hard to beat the delicious grilled chicken sandwich sitting right beside the Singel Canal. After lunch we explored Amsterdam, walked by the Tulip Market and stopped for a drink on a patio while listening to a singer. After getting back we enjoyed sitting on our hotel’s front benches viewing the canal and watching all the people boat, bike, scooter, skateboard, auto and walk by. We had a 9 pm supper and checked out Louis’s around the corner but it was full and prices nothing special. We went back to
Haesje Claes restaurant from last night which coincidentally we can see from our bedroom window. The food was quite good again and I had the liver and Nancy the Cod.
