Where I stayed
We arrived in Ao Nang after a relatively smooth ferry from Langkawi to Satun, a 5.5 hr bus into Krabi town and then another 0.5hr bus. Our intended hotel was full, but the one recommended was AMAZING!!! It was like a really posh Holiday Inn, but for 13 pound a night you cant go wrong, TV, ensuite shower room, spacious, mini bar, just really really nice.
So we spent most of the first day enjoying modern luxuries such as a power shower and a TV.
In the evening we met up with Mark, Aimee, and Alex (from Annie's) for a night out. Ended up going to the Reggae Bar, which is at the end of a long stretch of bars with lots of beautiful pretty “ladies” vying for the mens attention
We only stayed for a little while, but Alex (the only single guy) got involved with playing connect four with the “ladies”, whilst Mark and Aimee drank the night away on traditional Thai buckets.
Funnily enough we were the only ones awake for breakfast. We spent most of the day chilling at the hotel, visiting the beach and eating eating eating (Sophie was feeling particularly hungry). The sunset on the beach was nice.
We spent the morning on a Kayaking tour near the national park. It had mangroves, lagoons, canyon, monkeys, lots of crabs and beautiful views.
In the afternoon we chilled out on the beach to recover from our morning exertions. In the evening we met up with the others to go to the “Krabi night market”. Now strictly speaking it is a market (fruit and veg) at night, but its not exactly worth the taxi fare there. Sophie was disappointed not to get a Thai bracelet. So we went back the the Reggae Bar in Ao Nang to drown our sorrows and indulge in some Thai Jenga!
