Hello from the Cameron Highlands!! It's a lush 23 degrees here - it was 33 in KL so we are enjoying cooling off and relaxing..well, kind of relaxing, we went on a tour this morning where we visited a tea plantation and tea factory, but also did a trek into the 'mossy forest' - part of the oldest jungle in Malaysia! We arrived late in the afternoon yesterday and are just staying till tomorrow so thought a tour would be a good way to see some sights, including going up the highest peak around here (1,666ft) to see some amazing views. Apparently it's only clear 100 days of the year up there so we were lucky! We had a good guide who knew loads about the local forest and flora, which I dond't think I'd be interested in but there you go! Keiron's ankle just about survived the trek as it was all uneven and wet soggy ground, but very good fun all the same, helped along by a nice bunch of Belgians and Germans who were on the tour as well and had a great sense of humour! We finished off the tour at a Butterfly garden where we tried out our wildlife photography skills, with some pretty good results, if I do say so myself (most are Keirons!).
We're heading to a beach next in Penang (tomorrow) and plan to do some island hopping after that. Thanks for all the messages to us, keep them coming! Sophie xxx
