Where I stayed
Apa Kaba homestay
We arrived here by bus from Singapore yesterday - the best bus I've ever been on, with air con, massage chairs and a film! Yesterday we did a bit of exploring around the town centre, found a nice place for tea which satisifed my noodle craving, and did some shopping in the night market in China Town (which means I've officially started Christmas shopping already!).
Today we joined a horde of other hot sweaty tourists hopping in and out of air con museums, climbing St. Paul's hill, and exploring an old portugese boat. And those of you from Notts (and Rach, who I hear has been here before!) will be pleased to hear that we cooled off from the 33 degree heat in the Geographer cafe! I also unashamedly dragged Keiron to a pizza/pasta restaurant as I've got a 'dicky stomach' and wasn't up to local cuisine
On the subject of local cuisine we also tried Malasyian breakfast today (although I had toast and coffee first as dicky stomach did not like the sight of rice first thing in the morning!). We're staying in a homestay run by Kenny and his family, he's incredibly helpful and supplied a map, ideas of things to do and breakfast, and the whole place is really chilled out. Check out the photos!
Will leave the other updates to Keiron - I need a shower!
