Ok, so i haven't updated my travel log in bloody ages. It's because i'd been swept up in the moment, to be honest. Meeting wicked people from all over the world, partying and doing amazing things.

Instead of boring you all to death writing all the things that have happened - i'll just fill you in on the highlights....

After leaving Puerto Escondido, me, Dave and Dom went to Zippolite for a few days to chill out. We'd heard of a great place to stay called Shambala, cabanas over looking the beach, where you can sleep to the sound of the ocean. We left Puerto Escondido in a pretty mash up state and by the time we'd arrived, it was pretty late. No one was at reception, infact - there was no one in site all at. I left my backpack with Dom and went inside to find someone. Found some mash up looking dude with a permanent smile who didn't talk. But after much fun and games, we managed to communicate we were after beds for the night - all good. Dom went and crashed out, but me and Dave had a massive bag of green still - and from the look of this dude, it was cool to blaze a few j's round here. For all of you that have seen it - it was this night that mash up photo of me was taken!

The following day we went for a walk around town and i bumped into Christian, a guy from Denmark i'd met in Mexico City. We were finding out info on going to San Cristobel and he was up for going there too, so decided to tag along with us that night. Being the fools that we are, none of us bothered to book a bus ticket. Yep, we turned up at the bus station only to find out the bus was full. Oh well - we went to Puerto Angel (another beach on the Pacific coast) for the night instead. It was the same as the journey to go back to Zippolite, so no harm done really.

We arrive there and find some accomodation. Dom was knackered and laid down for a bit, whilst myself and the boys went on a beer mission. Met some local dude who walked us to shop. He was a bit mash up though and was begging us to come to some party with him. Then he starteed singing over and over again 'Welcome to Taiwana, we gonna have a drink and marijuanna'. It didn't work, we were shattered. The only entertainment we had for the that night was when a massive bug landed on the back of Christian's foot. I saw it immediately and was trying to get his attention. 'Christian! Christian!'. He was so engrossed in conversation with the guy in the shop, he didn't hear me. But Dave did. Then he saw it too. 'Christian! Christian!' at which point he finally turned around. 'What?!'. Dave's exact words were 'umm, you've got a bug on your foot, mate'. When he looked down and saw this nasty, huge bug - the guy started doing something that ressembled the James Brown dance trying to get it off. But this thing was gripping on for dear life and everyone kept pushing Christian back, trying to keep him away from them. He got it off eventually and I laughed all the way back to our hostel.

The following day we left and made our way back to the bus station, with our pre-booked tickets in hand. Dom had decided that she would now start making her way back to Mexico City (as this is where her flight home left from) and go back early, to be with her mum for Christmas. It was so sad, i was absolutely gutted - but we all understood and said our goodbyes.

A 10hr bus journey later and me, Dave and Christian arrive in San Cristobel. Jeez man, it was freezing compared to all the other places i had been to - but it is high up in the mountains so it was to be expected really. Alex, Flo and Maria (from Puerto Escondido) were already there and had booked us all up on a horse riding tour of the Mayan Village. Lovely. We literally only had time for a shower and off we went.

Turned up at the horse riding place and were all assigned our horses. I had the crazy one - brilliant. He didn't follow any of my instructions, he took me where he wanted, when he wanted and ran, gallopped, trotted and stopped. Even took a massive de-tour from the rest of the group and took me to a stream for a quick drink. This pissed the tour guide off something cronic and he followed us down on his horse to give mine a good beating! My horse reared up and i clung on around his neck, shouting at the man not to be hitting my horse. Shit man, i ain't no professional horse rider - what's the man thinking?

Anyways, a few hours later we turn up at this little Mayan Village. There was a massive church where they were having a ceremony and we were advised by the tour guides that we were able to take photos of the church, but not to take photo's of the people, as they believed it will take their soul. Unfortunately for Louis, a student from Mexico City who was on our tour, took a photo of the church and accidentally got a guy walking past in it. Raaatid, before i could blink - there was about 20 little Mayan men around the poor guy shouting at him. They wanted the camera film. Louis tried to blag them off with another film, but they were having none of it. The wanted the one out of the camera. This went on for about a good half hour and there was more little Mayan men now circling him and i was just so happy that i had refrained from any photo taking, as if this happened to me - i wouldn't even know what they were saying. But at least Louis was Mexican. Eventually he gave up and grudgingly handed over the film. The pulled the entire film out and tied it to the tree outside the church. Lovely.

The tour visits and we all head back to our hostel to freshen up - and planned to meet up in the evening with Louis and the other Mexican students and a girl called Jo we had also met on the tour.

We went to a wicked Thai restaurant called Mayambe and the food was amazing. Stuffed our bellies, then headed off to a bar. I started looking through the cocktails and shots list and the waiter comes over to assist. He points out one shot that can only be drunk by Mexican men (as it's sooo bloody strong), so of course - i order it. Infact, i ended up having 3 and was proper mash up. Quite a few of us end up having them, actually.

We left there and go to a bar/club, which was cool. I danced the night away like a woman possessed, came back to the hostel and crashed out. ***
