the fruit trees lining the roads give way to pasture land and livestock - farming country - sheep and cows all over the place- a bit like Normandy! We pass lake boga- once a tourist area but now suffering the effects of drought- the lake is well down on old waterlevels and is surrounded by stranded deserted caravan parks (like lake fyans in the Grampians) but there are big puddles everywhere, there has been some heavy rain here too recently. Hot and sunny again now though. Echuca is in our face by lunchtime- its heaving with tourists (how inconsiderate) and after a visit to the info centre where we asked about campsites with internet facilities only to be told there wernt any- not even a silly pielink machine, the only thing we stop for is mcds burgers for lunch. We're sure lots of people like it here, withits paddleboat cruises and wild west looking high street (it does have a certain charm) but its not for us (yet again - we are being picky) aussie branch vince?
aussie branch vince?
. how this place attracts and keeps so many visitors when it cant provide  internet services beats us though- get up to speed echuca! We cant be the only ones wanting to keep in touch on the web!
An hour later we are in shepparton to be met by a dozen or so very arty cows - this place suits us better! Theres a lot of shops here as we pass through town to find our home for the night - big 4 shepparton east. It has wi-fi! It has a pool! Bingo! We had dried out our tent at swan hill yesterday so we are camping for real again tonight. No-one to talk to here though-we are surrounded by foreigners(!) - germans, Japanese, Canadians, Indians - its like the united nations peace summit camp here - until about 11.30pm when our neighbours (think they are thai) were still jabbering away outside. Bev had to restrain jim from getting out of bed and paying them a visit and they did shut up fairly soon after he made a few loud comments! we wouldn't have minded if we knew what we were listening to but it was all mumbo jumbo so no point trying to earwig their convo! there's a family with young kids next to the talking thais- don't think they will be too happy with the noise either - keep hearing the young ones having a grizzle poor things cant get to sleep either! Potd LASHED - saw this car 3 times today in echuca and shepparton!        & nbsp;
