so we didn't get to see much of renmark itself but what we did see was lovely- the riverside views were enough to keep us happy and last nights sunset was beautiful but we are moving on to mildura today - a similar sort of place on the banks of the murray - very popular with holidaymakers apparently - and it takes us a little further towards our next big target - Sydney which we should reach in time for the Australia day celebrations next weekend- parties everywhere so they say! Todays drive is just about 2 hours - so not too taxing for a still sniffing jim. This part of victoria - yes another border and time change again -confused.com - is the citrus fruit and vineyard area - there are trees everywhere laden with oranges and lemons and lots of famous wineries too - lindemans, banrock station to name a couple that we were familiar with. Think france is gonna lose out to the aussies in the wine producing stakes soon - with perfect growing conditions here and so much space the grapegrowers are everywhere! Little shacks on the roadside offer cheap fruit for sale- like we used to get on our country roads before folk kept nicking the money tins as well as the produce! Ah those were the days! We find our next campsite - the mildura and deakin big 4 - very easily - its on the main road into town and right opposite a shopping mall! Natties well pleased with this one! Its not a very big site but has a great kitchen and lounge and wireless internet so we book for 2 nights. Camping again! The tent goes straight up but its getting very hot again - so the girls leave jim in peace and go check out the shops! Two hours later.... Theres even a wendys icecream counter just across the road so jim gets his favourite as a takeout / peace offering- moccachino! The girls go swimming again and then its time for dinner - prawn salad and new pots. We meet some nice people in the tv lounge and disturb the tennis watchers with our talking - forgetting all about getting on the net to talk to you guys back home - sorry we will try tomorrow ! upon going to bed we realise just how close we are to the main road - there are cars , motorbikes and trucks pulling wheelies and racing each other - don't think we'll get much sleep tonight!
