We have to turf nattie out of bed again today in order to get back on the road . john and emma left at 6am and now its 9.30 before we leave the campsite. We find a mcd for brekkie but discover we cant turn back onto the same road to head out of Adelaide so we go on a little detour around the city until we find the melborne route 45 mins later! A good map would have been very useful here! The city, like a lot of others in oz, has been built in a grid format so you cant call it getting lost - just being on the wrong road that will always lead you to another!
It's a struggle for maz to leave this city- theres a massive hill to get out of town but luckily it's the freeway with plenty of other lanes for everyone else to overtake us and slowly but surely maz gets us to the top! The area of Adelaide hills is beautiful- we will look forward to returning here in a couple of weeks for a better look with the family- we will be back here for the new year celebrations! we quite liked Adelaide!
Passing hahndorf and murray bridge (both places look very nice ) we enjoy the drive through some lovely countryside.we stop for a picnic lunch at keith (Funny name for a village) which turns out to be a cute little place too.  Across at the next picnic table a family is exchanging Christmas pressies- is that usual here- Christmas in a park (weird!) another reminder that its just around the corner!
A bit longer in maz and we reach the s a / Victoria border and yet another time change! Confused dot.com!
The scenery doesn't change much (very little animal life here but we have seen some llamas in a field today) until we reach Horsham (not the sussex one) with the Grampian mountains on the horizon. Lots of strenuous activities available here if wanted- abseiling, hill walking, etc but we wont be doing any of that - much too like hard work- we have to put up the tent again when we reach wimmera lakes campsite and we are gonna get that mattress out of maz again tonight! Should be fun...
D.O.T.D leftovers!
M.O.T.D nice OLD boy! who's just brought new caravan and gunna spend the rest of his days touring auz!
P.O.T.D madness on a harly davidson trike in a tribe!
