Been hectic since last blog- this retirement lifestyle is a bit busier than first thought - I left my job last week after 5 great years working in a little post office, often sending things to Aus for customers , I still can't quite believe I'm going to send myself there now! My boss didnt know why I needed 3 weeks off before our departure- now with so much still to do before we go it doesn't seem long enough but the clock is ticking.... being complete novices to the flying game Jim me and Nattie have had a day trip to Heathrow Terminal 3 so that we didnt get lost before leaving the uk! Glad we did cos it seems very hectic but we know now where to check in for Malaysian Airways so thats a start- weve decided to get there by National Express to save our friends or rellies taking us and then us worrying about them , only thing is we will arrive hours before our check in time but at least we wont be stuck on the M25 on the Monday morning. We had another day trip to London last weekend too- we went to the Austravel live exhibition at Olympia. First impressions were we had wasted the train fair, didn't live up to the hype, but after speaking to a few of the exhibitors we picked up some really useful tips and we are glad we went. All the brochures we collected were very heavy to cart around all day and now back home I don't think we'll have time to read them all before we go!This weekend we are off to our house in France to arrange with our kind neighbours there to look after the place while we are away and pay the dreaded bills (there is so much to arrange before a long trip away) so that when we come back at least the leccie wont have been cut off! Ah, about coming back, it should be the beginning of March but who knows, Ryan (son no. 2 age 22) now looks like being with us in Oz until after Xmas but poor old Dan And Emma (recently engaged!) still only get the first four weeks because of their jobs back here...Jim sold his business in July (he ran a glass/glazing company ) and Dan (son no.1 age 26) now works with the lovely couple that took over but I'm sure they'll want him back ASAP! We though are definately keeping our options open ( the list of must do's now runs into pages) we might need more time...and a mahoosive list of things still to do here too so time to sign off.
