An hour and a half ferry from Phi Phi landed us in Krabi on the west coast of Thailand. From here we traveled 30 mins to Ao Nang and then caught a long tail boat to a "secret" beach! While it is not a total secret, the beach sits between massive rock faces and huge boulders, and is shared by only a small number of people, fortunate enough to have heard of this alluring piece of paradise. A rock climbers paradise and a travelers dream with a very quiet beach with bars built into the trees dotted along the sandy shoreline.

This place was magical. As you walked further away from the beach there were bungalows set in the valley, surrounded by mountainous terrain rich with vegetation, little critters and monkeys. After leaving the tourism of Phi Phi behind this special spot was like a breath of fresh air. We spent our time lazying on the beach, watching people rock climb, and relaxing in the shade of the tree house bars. At night everything was lit up with fire torches and fairy lights as we enjoyed more amazing Thai cooking!

It was like small community of backpackers, some seeking the next big rock face to conquer, others just looking for that hidden treasure. Unspoiled by tourism, it had a laid back feeling and totally refueled us for the adventures to follow.

John and Jacy, THANK YOU for sharing this place with us and we can only hope that its magic remains for years to come! Now its your turn guys, to soak up the beauty and charm of this mystical place! xx
