Hello one and all!

After a lovely few days in Bethlehem, the weather has been GLORIOUS, we are now heading to Auja near the Dead Sea. I've attempted to find Auja on a map, any map, and had no success. All I know is that it's an ecocenter some where between Jericho and the Dead Sea. This trip will focus more on the sustainability aspect of our abroad theme, and today we're actually going to a kibbutz before getting to Auja where we are going to make clay bricks!! Cool! :)

The past few days we're been working on our volunteer village reports, and yesterday we went up to Nablus and Tulkarem in the northern West Bank. It was beautiful up there, more trees!, but the towns looked pretty much the same as all the other Palestinian towns. We did some environmental meetings and also met with a Muslim sheikh which was pretty cool. But, I actually liked the drive and the scenery better than the meetings :) Oh well.

We also had a GREAT skype meeting with some people back at Prin College last night! (Where I graduated from last year) they gathered in a small auditorium and we gave an overview of the trip so far, some highlights and lowlights, and then questions and answers. It was SO FUN to see everyone back at home and answer some questions that I know everyone has. I really loved it!

So off we go to the Dead Sea, everyone is so excited to go swimming because we all want to see if it really is easy to float. I'm just excited to see how excited everyone else gets. The other Katie wants to try and walk on water, she thinks if she can get a running start she might be able to do it.....I don't have the heart to crush her dreams, but I WILL thoroughly enjoy watching her try! And I will also be getting out my video camera :)

See ya!
