Jerusalem is seriously the coolest place ever. Right up there with Mont Saint Michel in France, which is my other favorite. But I can't say which one I like better because they're totally different.

Yesterday morning, we went to the Holocaust Museum here in Jerusalem. It was incredibly powerful. It was such a huge amounts of information, but it was so heart wrenching. I really enjoyed the experience, if it's possible to say such a thing. The grounds of the museum were BEAUTIFUL too! TREES!!! EVERYWHERE!!! I was so happy...

For lunch, I had ITALIAN FOOD!! We found a restaurant and I had spaghetti and salad and it was so heavenly. Then we found an ice cream place and I got some gelato. Once again, I was in heaven. Don't get me wrong, I do like falafel and hummus, but we have it quite frequently, and I'm getting really sick of it. Then yesterday afternoon we went to the US Consulate and met with a foreign service officer. SO fascinating!! It was so great to hear what kind of progress is being made here on the diplomatic end of things, and what's even better is that there actually is real progress! By the end I just felt so hopeful and positive by the end, it was such a great meeting.
Today, was a free day that I spent walking and shopping :) It. was. awesome. Slept in, computed, then walked back to the area that we ate lunch yesterday. Unfortunately, since today is the Jewish Sabbath, almost everything was closed. BUT, we found a different Italian restaurant and this time I had ravioli and then we had dessert. GUESS WHAT IT WAS?!?! Chocolate Mousse. That's right. CHOCOLATE MOUSSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my absolute favorite dessert when we were in France, and while it definitely wasn't as good, it wasn't bad either. AND we had some chocolate lava cake/brownie that was AMAZING. So lunch was good. Then I spent the afternoon shopping around in the Old City, which was SO cool! I really love this place. We ended by walking over to the American Colony hotel which is mega snooty, I think the cheapest room is like $800/night or something ridiculous. We found this great bookstore at the hotel, and the grounds were so beautiful. Lots of greenery, and the weather was beautiful and comfortable. It was just such a nice walk and the TREES were so pretty. So today was a good day.

I love this city....and tomorrow we're FINALLY getting a tour of the holy places!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!
