First Impressions:

This place ROCKS.

So we arrived this morning and took a short tour of some random places around the modern city. Honestly, I didn't pay much attention because all I could think about was getting into the Old City!! Then we came to the Old City, got to our hotel, unloaded and found out that we have THE MOST incredible view from the rooftop!!!! I included a picture because it's just SO. AWESOME.

This afternoon we went to the Temple Institute, which is a Jewish organization that is in charge of all the preparation for the Third Jewish Temple. That was absolutely fascinating, and then we met with a Rabbi for about 2.5 hours and just talked all about Judaism and all the different histories of the different sects and facets. Also TOTALLY fascinating!!! I loved it :) Just walking around the Old City is seriously the coolest thing ever. Shops are just overflowing with goods, from spices, tea, tshirts, tea and coffee sets, jewelry, scarfs, toys, all kinds of stuff!!!! Hebron had something similar to this but it was really dirty, smelly, and there was just no one there. But Jerusalem is just SO COOL and I can't wait to get some time to just walk around and explore. Although these streets are long, narrow, and there's a million of them so I hope I don't get lost! We'll definitely be traveling in groups and we all have maps so hopefully we'll make it back! :)
