It was cold, misty and raining. The served seafood lunch and dinners were in my opinion also rather poor than delightful. But the journey from Hanoi to the Halong Bay was worth. We chose a guided 3 days tour to the bay which features thousands of limestone pinneacles and isles in various sizes and shapes. We took off in a huge traditional Chinese junk boat, visited a stunning cave with three large chambers at the Halong Bay, spent the first night on that luxurious boat, climbed up a steep mountain on the Cat Ba Island for a facinating view on the second day, and did some kayaking and swimming in freezing cold water around the Monkey Island where Mihai's T-Shirt got stolen by a red-ass-monkey. In the end, Mihai got back his shirt but we wondered why it was wet... Nice.
