... we are sailing, home again 'cross the sea ...

I wish it was our home. The Whitsunday Islands.

The Whitsunday Islands are a group of 74 islands that lie off the coast of Queensland, Australia and form part of the Great Barrier Reef. It is very popular to join a sailing boat for couple days to explore pristine beaches and excellent snorkeling in clear aquamarine waters.
We joined 'Eureka II', a small but one of the fastest racing yachts on the Whitsundays, on a 3 days and 2 nights sailing trip. The racing-loving owner of Eureka II and his Flying Dutchman of skipper spoiled us for those 3 days. The crew took us to spectacular coral gardens for snorkeling, to the fine, brillant white sand of Whitehaven Beach, and to locations to observe postcard-perfect sunsets. In addition, we got involved in the sailing by pulling robes and folding sails and we also got a little taste of being a sailor by stiring the wheel. We enjoyed the breeze in our hair, the sailing was so calmful and relaxing, and from time to time the sailor would follow his thrill and race other vessels. Then, the food was excellent. In the nights, we lay on the deck under a diamond-covered-like sky and watched falling stars, one after another.

The Whitsunday Islands. I wish it was our home.
