Amazing that I survived the first week of school! My head is still swimming after grading papers including letters from the students about who they are, favorites and such. I giggled a lot as I read them as they gave me good insight to who I am teaching this year. I found out I have at least 2 ambassador's children, numerous kids of parents that work for the Embassey, USAID, Save the Children, and the UN. For some of the kids, they have moved every 2 years or so and where ever they are is where home is. Their flexibility amazes me!

The weekend has been spent at a Welcome Dinner hosted by the superintendent and his family and we had to drive on our own this time. A bunch of us met at the MS/HS principal's home for cocktails and munchies before travleling in a caravan style and all drove like Jordanian's-kinda crazy so as not to misplace anyone on the way. I did miss a turn on the way home and did a little panic dance as I drove. There are so few turn arounds that I had to drive aways before I could turn around and go back to where I was. It didn't take me long before I was home safe and sound. Now I need to do that drive in the day light so I know where I really was!

Friday was coffee at 8am with a couple of teachers that were bent on finding my house-luckily I was awake and could make coffee. Next was shopping and that was interesting as I found my own way to and from the mall-quite an accomplishment!!! Friday is the best time to drive as there are not many on the road until about 3ish. Grading papers was next so that I could watch tennis on TV. Yes, I finally have TV!!! It's nice to get news and some sports.

Saturday was a lazy morning and then plant shopping. We took 2 busses from school-one for the people and one for the plants. It was a nursery about 25 minutes from down-don't ask about directions as I have no clue which way is north or south. There were acres of plants and people were buying for their patios. I found 3 house plants for 6JD or about $10. Each plant in the states would be about $15.95 each so now all I have to do is keep them alive!

That was the weekend!
