Today was the day! It went quite well after I relaxed and enjoyed the new experiences. School started at 8:00am and the students left at 3:00pm either by bus, driver or parent. The school operates on a type of block schedule but being the first day that went into a hand basket. On a Day 1/3, I will have 2 sections 7th grade Geography and 1 section of 6th grade Ancient Civ plus Advisory everyday. On a Day 2/4, I will have 2 sections of 8th grade US History and 1 section of 6th grade Ancient Civ. The advisory time is used for a snack break and then they have about 10 minutes with us. I am not sure how we are going to use that time but I am sure that something will be developed. Lunch is eaten outside and then the kids can play on the soccer fields till it is time to go to last block. I did field duty today so missed lunch-I was starving by the end of the day. :-)

My classes look like a mini United Nations-not to unlike Highland but is a different way. My class sizes are a dream!
22, 22, 14 and an advisory of 20 and tomorrow it will be 18, 20, and 14. Seems like a dream!!! My adviosry is 8th grade and it feels good to get back to that grade level again. Oh, both the principal and the superintendent were in visiting today-yikes! I have the principal's 2 children and a host of other teachers/school worker's children.

I don't know what else to tell you as my head is swimming! Got my school work done and then decided to knit a little. It's the third time I have started this pattern-maybe I will get it right this time!

Hope all is well-
