The rest of the week passed quickly with Barb and Les here! Wednesday night at school was an open house for the parents to be a "student" and follow their child's schedule for 10 minutes per class. It was hectic and my throat was dry by the time I got done! Barb and Les got back to Amman right about 6:00pm as I finished my evening so the timing worked out great! Where were Barb and Les?? They went to Petra! Jaena's husband, Waleed, helped me find a driver to hire for the day. He has a friend that does this for a job and he was happy to do this. He arrived at school at 8:00am and off they went while I had to teach. :-( From the stories and events of the day, they had a fabulous time in the heat but got to see what we have all been raving about after a visit to Petra. That evening was spent at home, visiting the bakery on the corner, and relaxing.

. It was fun for her to see what my classes look like and how my new room looks. She also got to meet one group of my 8th graders, took my citizenship quiz that the others were taking(a student got her score so he was happy), and then hang out with my advisory. I toured her around some and then took her home during my prep. After school, I checked the temperature for Jerash as that was the last place we needed to go. It was over 94'F there! The decision was made not to go to Jerash but drive up that way so Les could get some pictures of the side of the road vendors and the country side. Once we got back into Amman, we did another bakery run of goodies for breakfast in the morning as Anita and Terri were coming over, the nut shop, sweets bakery, and then the Grenediar for dinner of fish and chips. Packing needed to be finished up and last minute checks made for purchases and packages. Everything was ready for Friday and Istanbul!
