My room is done! Well, pretty much done. More on that later!
The day started at Starbucks with Anita, Bian, Jaena and Terri over by school-back to the same old habits! The meeting was supposed to start at 9:00 but we are now working on Jordan time so add an extra half hour to the schedule! This year there are about 6 new staff and the all seem to be neat people. The meeting finished up about 11:00 and then we got a tour of the new classrooms. Steve, my principal, had sent a video of the rooms and I was shocked and then even more surprised that they will be about 85% ready for the beginning of the school year. That means that there is TON of people packing, moving and setting up new classrooms-some just found out today.
Furniture is there, handles were put on the cabinet doors, file cabinets came and then there is dust and grime to deal with. We'll see when that gets dealt with! At the end of the year, I had packed up most of my stuff except text books so there wasn't much I could do as the hired day labor was busy with everything and everybody else. Can you tell I am getting antsy?????? Surprised? ;-) So I did the next best thing, I called Tarek, a former student and son of Bian, to round up a crew for tomorrow to come and move my books and boxes. What am I paying them? Starbucks coffee of their choice-well worth getting it moved and done my way.
I left school about 4:00 and then went to do some grocery shopping. I was pleasantly surprised that prices hadn't changed to drastically while I was gone. Gas will be the next check on that...
Anita and I started up again at Starbucks and had a good time then went back to her apartment and watched some CNN. it's now 10:30 and I need to go to bed so I am ready for another day of staff and MS meetings plus unpacking my room!
Check out the pics from my room!
