We made our way from Puerto Natales up to Puerto Montt, as 32 hours on a bus wasn't nearly enough for us we jumped on another to reach the island of Chiloe (and an extra 6 hours more to add to our already massive bus trip).
Chiloe is a traditional island, there are many farms, parks and lots of fishing. Unfortunately we had missed the penguin and sea lion colonies which arrive there, get pregnant and hang about till March, instead we caught up with the howling winds and pouring rain.
Our first day we walked around Castro, checking out the capital, they have many houses built on the water on stilts and a lots of churches (there are as many churches there as there are offy's in London). We then headed over to the national park for our first beach experience of the journey.. sadly sandcastles and ice creams were just not on the menu, instead howling winds and pouring rain. Although it was nice to see the Pacific Ocean we were simply not North enough,
For that reason, we packed and said goodbye to Chiloe and the howling winds and pouring rain.
