Where I stayed

Ah, the Greek islands. Land of long days, hot sunshine, and cold winds. Erin and I had a good last day and a half in Athens, including a long bus trip out to see the Temple of Poseidon at sunset on our last night). Thankfully, we didn't have to find additional accommodation, as we had thought the previous night.

Highlights of Myknonos (Sunday afternoon to Wednesday afternoon)
--Myknonos is lovely and so cute. Finding a non-windy spot is a challenge, but once we did, fabulous.

--Cheaper accommodation! Only 30 Euros a night, and with our own bath/toilet to boot. Highly recommend Hotel Zorzis. Plus quirky hotel owner Jonathan and his crazy half Aussie half New York accent. Classic. He was trying to get me and Erin to come work for him and toss in our day jobs...

--Our cute little cafe where we ate half our meals. Loving grannie in the corner.

--Pink pelicans and windmills

--Getting a day in at the beach--at last! The water was cold, but the beaches weren't crowded. I can only imagine what Myknonos is like is high season!

--Delos, the ancient island. Although I could have done with less wind and more food.

--Nutella and banana crepes. My favourite.

--The long ferry ride from Athens to Myknonos. I am not meant to be a sailor. Alas, the pharmacies were all closed on Saturday and I was unable to procure any anti-nausea meds. I paid for it on Sunday and had to brave the winds on the top deck for 5 hours as I attempted not to be sick from the rocking sea.

--The wind. We were told it is unseasonalbly cold...

--Getting sick. I came down with a nasty cold for about 3 days (woke up today feeling better). It cut into my desire to experience the Myknonos nightlife, but for all the travelling I've done, I'm pleased that a cold is pretty much the worst of my sickness woes.
