Hello All!

Just wanted to give a quick update before class!
Life is good... The spanish is improving... I hope.  Thou gh it is a bit frustrating because instead of more people speaking Spanish those who started out speaking only Spanish are now speaking english...    The whole immersion thing is a bit ocmpromised !
 
Yesterday we went to the Capilla Real which is attached to the Cathedral in Granada. This is where the Reyes Catolicos  are buried. They are isabel and Fernando the   ones who funded Christopher Columbus  and kicked all the jews out of spain and such ... Well we visited an d it wa sinteresting fo rsure and very pretty b ut I am not sure how a feel about the church being used to show dominance of people. For example the alter is gorgeous and has woodedn carvings of saints and Jesus life and such  biut then it also hs the king and queen and shows the conquering of Granada the last muslim stronghold in 1942 the same year Columbus s ailed the ocen blue .. .           ;       

Ya so that is the interesng dilemma of the church. I s pent a lot oof  time thinking abotu how the church can rationalize such discrimination instead of listening to th eguide but it was still a cool place to see and the architecture and pure size of the church was mind blowing. The doors are probably  30 feet tall... at least.
