For those non spanish folks that means I have arrived! I am here in Granada.Sitting in my living room typing on myhost sisters computer. How exciting. The past few days have been full and eventful.
First my family...
I have a host mother and sister here. There are 3 other children all boys all older. One lives in London but he is visiting right now. The others It hink are near by but I dont know... They have been by a few times for food and laundry (boys are the same in every country :)) I share a room with my roommate who is from Seattle University. Que mas... My host mom makes really good food an dshe makes stuff to cater to my picky eating but is still authentic so I love it. I think I will need to buy another plane ticket home because eating as I am now I am not going to fit in just one.

The whole spanisht hing... Welll I am one of the brats in the group becaus e I pretty much refuse to speak english unless I have to explain something. I can speak with the other students fairly easily but with my family is more difficult... It hink it is a confidence thing.Tomorrow we take the placement test to know our level so I guess I will really know where I am at. I have the most problems with speaking and there are many things I think I have forgotten and the same few that I strugle with (estar v.ser, when you use articles and when not and which to use AHHHHH) Then there is the whole Vosotros things for non spanish people it is like yáll and they only really use it in spain. Needless to say the 5 weeks I was in mexico didnthelp me with that an neither did my  college profs soooo I need to learn it now....

I love the townof granada it is fairly small and very pretty. We did a walking tour through part of it and looked at some of the great views and the old neighborhoods... I have tried chocolate and churros both here and in madird and I think madrids are better.... I am still trying to adjust to the schedule of staying out til all hours of the night so I have not yet tried the tapas and bar experience. unlike the majority of the group I figure I have 4 months to do that and if I dont start for a couple weeks that is fine with me :)

I will try to update more often and then I will actually remember what all I have done... Ihope you are well! I need too now return to the books and possibly try to talk with my famly to practice of the test. It ishardthough!

hey!!!
Hey Karen, I just got the emails about your blog because they were sent to an old email address, but I had fun reading through all of your adventures. I hope you enjoy school and the Spanish life, and keep in touch! The email I actually use is kinnan@usc.edu so send me a message if you have time since I don't know what your email is. Bueno suerte!

Oh español, me encanta!
Karen,
