Yesterdday we went to a town called Ronda. It is in Malaga an area to the west of us. We went witht he main purpose of seeing the plaza de toros where they have thecorridas or bull fights. It is the second largest in the world but the oldest. It is a very interesting subject here because bull fights are part of the culture but many people do not support htem. I personally am not a fan of them becuase of the rights of the animals but I can respect ehm at the same time because they are a part of the culture. I have no intention of attending one but that could change.
I also visited the Arabic Baths (I think that is how you translate it) these were ancient baths from when southern spain was largely muslim. The baths are basically a spa with a hot room like a sauna a warm room to sit and get massages and such and a cold room to sit in the pools. These things are hundreds of years old and the engineering is incredible. Mrs. gennie Meehan I thought of you!
The frustrating part of this trip was the bathroom stop. There were tour groups form hwo knows where and the whole concept of waiting in line didnt exist. People just walked past the whole line of people and would rush into the first stall that opened. I got to the point I stood blocking the door and owuld only move to let people out because as I am sure you alll know nothing ticks me off faster than rude people with no respect for others. When I was leaving the stall literal 3 women were trying to push their way in and another was pulling on my arms to get me out of the way so she couldgo in. I almost said some choice words inh spanish which would have been more or less stop you cows because that is the worst I know :)
All in all it was a good day though!
Til later!

i LOVED ronda. i went there with my family and it was probably my favorite part of Spain. i am really glad you got to go there. although i am sorry about the bathroom situation. : )
the moorish history of spain is fascinating. i am assuming you will be at al-hambra soon. but wasn't the canyon at ronda amazing? i was there for the huge corpus christi parade. great times. and the beast food i had in spain
