John and i have landed in paradise - well close to it anyway.  We are sitting outside (under the awning because its so hot) having a coffee and chocolate (soon to be replaced with a wine and chocolate) after coming in from a snorkel and a lie down on the beach!

Yes, thats right its hot and sunny here (sorry everyone back home).  The place itself is amazing.  The water is blue as and this morning we hung out with a heap of dolphins (you cant go in with them but I got picked out of the crowd to feed them - after John yelled out pick her!)

Dont be fooled by the resort accomodation - we havent traded the kombi in for a room, but the whole place is called Monkey Mia resort.  Its the only place you can stay at down this end of the park and it consists of cabins, camping areas, powered caravan sites and a backpackers hostel type thing.  So last night we had the entertaining pleasure of staying in the camping area (they had no powered sites left believe it or not - the place is PACKED!) and listening to the sounds of foreigners trying to pick each other up for some tent pleasure! Then i think i got to hear some tent pleasure - but i put the pillow over the ears!

We have finished the day with a beautiful sunset on the beach and glass of wine and we are cooking up some good italian pasta (and unfortunately watching afl - its the only station we can get!)

Before we got here, on the drive from Kalbarri to here we stopped off at some spectacular gorges and got chased down by some hardcore germans in a hertz camper.

We are here for tonight and possibly tomorrow - although there are some really nice places up the road that we might stop in at. Next stop after here (we are staying in this area until it starts raining which its supposed to by the end of the week) is Carnavon (blowholes, surf and another massive jetty - hopefully I can go out on this one) and then Coral Bay for some awesome snorkelling and swimming with the whale sharks!!!!

Total kms for the trip - a massive 10,097!! We made the 10,000 mark :)
