West coast day out
Today we went back up the west coast to Monte Clerigo Beach with its big waves and rock pools, Arifana the surfing Beach and Bordeira with it's sand dunes and the river at high tide. There were several windsurfers with paraboarders leaping high into the sky and skimming across the water at possibly 20knots as the wind was very strong today.Needless to say the air was bracing and because we had company as well we had a really super day.
Chris and Olwen took us with them in their car along with the dogs Rosie and Jess. Rosie is a white rough haired fox terrier with lots of personality and a star football player. Jess is an adorable little schnauzer and we would dearly love to have a dog just like her some day. They were super company and although the chill factor in the wind was a bit sharp we had some great walks along the beaches and walkways.
We're feeling fit with all this sunshine and walking and Kay has been doing keep fit every morning too. With another long walk on Saturday into Luz we are certainly feeling all the benefits of this lifestyle.
Olwen reckons even her dog Jess has been given a new lease of life because of the sun and exercise. Diagnosed with a liver disease from overbreeding they had been told she wouldn't last til Christmas but she has been very perky and managed all the walks without being carried.
With a couple of stops for coffee and cake(naughty) and a glass of wine before we returned home it was a delightful day. There were great views apart from the sea views being a national park and we saw buzzards and a variety of birds.
