Where I stayed
This was a really good value trip only 10Euros for nearly an hours worth of boating in and out the grottoes and along the coastline.
After going down 129 steps we came to a rather precarious landing stage where we managed to clamber aboard the small motor boat with our guide in choppy water. His commentary was brief but pointed out different rock formations such as the lion's head, the crocodile, De Gaulle's head; the submarine; the elephant, the skeleton's face and with a bit of imagination we could see them too!
Many of the caves were small only just big enough for the boat to go in and back out again. Sometimes the light gave a vivid aquamarine reflection on the water which was quite stunning not unlike the blue grotto off the Isle of Capri.
The chimneys were stunning seen from water level and there were many interesting entrances shaped like cathedrals doorways.
We got some good shots of the shags on their pinnacles out at sea. and it was great to see the beaches we have been on from the sea.
One beach we haven't been to is the nudist beach but apparently it can only be reached by boat or by clambering down the crumbly cliffs by rope so it is unlikely we will be visiting it or many others; it was deserted which made it ideal.
After clambering back up the 129 steps we went to another beach for a glass of wine at the beach cafe and then eat our sandwiches on the beach in glorious sunshine. A fabulous day!
