'The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page'.

The sun is shining now and people are sunbathing on deck.

Madeira our first port of call slowly comes into view through the sea mist and the day is very promising.

We have decided not to go ashore today as we feel we know Madeira well enough to just appreciate it from the comfort of the ship.

We shall just relax and sip cocktails and bask in the sunshine or could that be sleep in the sunshine.

Although we are not burning the candle at both ends we are still incredibly tired and even after a good night's sleep still find ourselves dozing off at  odd moments throughout the day.

Colin doesn’t need an excuse and mine is the keep-fit and Scottish dancing I have been doing in preparation for  Burn’s Night. I am really enjoying the dancing and recollections of the Caledonian Society all those years ago come flooding back as I do the  'Gay Gordon’!

We are also enjoying the lectures given by Keith Pritchard. Today we learned a lot about Barbados, its history, its culture and what to expect on our tour. Keith is a lovely guy who made a point of coming over to us on the Verandah during the barbecue and offered his help and assistance in any way we might need. What a lovely chap.  We found his lectures really enlightening. He travels the world lecturing on many destinations worldwide for different cruiselines.

Colin will be enjoying the diplomacy, espionage, politics and crime lecture later today given by Keith Muras  about the ‘Cold War’ and the KGB while I shall be at my watercolour class. Never a dull moment! No wonder we are shattered at the end of the day.

Sounds as if you are having a fantastic time. I hope it continues that way.
About the book and pages,I am feeling as if I have been reading from the same page now for too long, but I guess that is all about economics!
I am still hoping for that big lottery win to allow me to progress to the next pages!
Anyway, hope you continue to have fun and keep turning pages for s long as possible!
Phone me sometime when you are in this country for a chat.
Lots of love. Xxxxxxxxx
