We love where we are staying, it's a fabulous room with a gorgeous view down to the river.  Rain has stopped us spending much time on the verandah and using the hot tub but there's time still to enjoy this.
Day one was spent exploring the area we went to visit the famous toilets in KawaKawa and went on the steam train through the town. Then we went across to Russell on the Ferry and tried the local's good  Also good in this area is the fresh fish, we had a lovely meal in the Just Seafood restaurant and another meal in the Swordfish club we would recommend both.
Today we went on a tour to Cape Reinga taking in sandboarding on the very high Dunes and a coach ride along the 90mile beach. Unfortunately the weather at the point where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet was fogbound and no view...shame It was still a great day which we wouldn't have done by car.  Lovely fish and chips on the way home at Mangarua Fishing Port.
Met another nice couple from London doing the campervan thing. Hoping for better weather for the next two days and dolphin spotting, maybe even a swim with them.

Absolutely are bringing back so many memories! To-day (19th) Amanda's Cousin has just arrived in Devon from their home in Perth!!! so it was great to see your photo's. Their arrival was a bit of a shock to them...we have 10 ins of snow on the ground, and they had never seen snow! Actually, neither had we to this extent! Similarly your blog on Sydney, particularly the sailing which we participated in with Iain, and can cofirm it is exciting and very close racing, together with F&C at Watsons bay....fabulous. Keep the blogs coming..and have a great Christmas. Best wishes and keep safe.
