A city with the same name as the country is bound to be quite small, and so it is. But the city is magnificent in enough ways to overcome its size. Luxembourg city sits at the crossroads of Germany and France in terms of geography and culture, which is pretty neat. Using the French has still be no problem.
Our campsite is great, with all the amenities of a small town actually. We have mini golf for tonight even, and a lady that operates the "Friterie Sunshine" which is the best chip wagon we have EVER seen. Trails to go for walks all over, plus fantastic WCs (what the bathrooms are called everywhere in Europe) and showers. We also order our bread and bakery items every night before bed and they are here in the a.m....like chocolte crossants and bagettes.
Matt has even picked up some French speaking and we both laugh at how we will sound by the time we get home.
Today we visited the cathedral of Our Lady and its crypt; the remains of the fortificqations of the city that date back to 963AD and had lunch in the Place d,Armes where Matt had seafood bisque that he loved more than anything!
Tomorrow we are going to the Ardennes to try and see some World War II museums and sites: the Battle of the Bulge was fought not far from here. Havin a great time and the weather is still HOT HOT HOT, Love Kaylea and Matt
PS. I still cant get over the Battle of Waterloo site that we visited south of Brussels where Napoleon was defeated by a coalition force (ok, mostly by Wellington the Brits would say)....anyway we bought a musketball from the Wellington Museum and it is a new prized possession! bye for now!
