Day 8
May 8, 2009

Today was a long day, we drove for about 12 hours today, luckily it wasn't as far as the second day.  Compared to driving from Staples MN to Gardiner MT, instead Miles City MT to Baxter MN.  We made rather good time considering we took some time out to get some provisions (pop) and then mom was really wanting to see the Enchanted Highway so that tied up about an hour.  We saw 8 metal sculptures and she has always wanted to see it so we took the time out for her to get to go see it.  That made her really happy.  My cell phone has gradually been picking up on missed calls and voice mails etc.  After all I found out that despite Mammoth Hot Springs has a cell tower, it was not working for the AT&T phones so and with all the traveling today in and out of towns through ranges and ranches.  Tonight we are having Papa Johns, oh has this been a long time since I have had Papa Johns.  Yippeeee!  This has been a really good week and we are all still talking about the wolves and the research books and homework we get/want to do now.  I want to read the book I purchased, and I want to re-read the one that is fictional about the decreasing numbers of wolves in yellowstone.  So it looks like I will have some reading to do.  All in all the day was ok, nothing majorly good or bad but ok.  I keep thinking about Yellowstone and the great time we had taking pictures of all the wildlife.  Maybe i should get a t'shirt that says "Tree hugger and proud of it"  or something, or naw, my wolf shirts I bought will probably spell that out.  Tomorrow we do another long haul toward home.  Then its clean up, laundry, get the dogs, see my boyfriend and get ready for my knee surgery.  So the busy period isn't over yet.  But at least I had a good time and was able to focus on that and that alone.  What a blast.
