Jungle trek

On the long bus ride from KL to Cameron i met 2 American guys, James and Joe, who had recently graduated. They decided rather than doing a road trip around the states and paying for petrol it would be cheaper to do South East Asia, so here they were!
I had prebooked Dans Hostel from KL so got picked up from the bus station and ten minutes later the 2 guys arrived at the same place, so we spent the next couple of days together in CH. They were en route to Thailand, Koh PhaNgan for the infamous full moon party on the 11th June, so i decided to join them for a while and maybe go to the party too.
There was a Frebch Girl, Clair, working at the hostel behind the bar in the evenings. She is early 20's and has been travelling around for the Last few years with basically no money, just turning up wherever she fancied away from the cities and getting some work & accommodation before moving on again. Pretty inspirational stuff! She took us for a jungle trek the following day with the 4 of us and a Japaense guy Sho. We managed to get slightly lost and never found the tea plantation or temple that we were looking for but had a great (although hard going for me) days walking. At one point whilst trying to ask locals for directions we stumbled across a vegetable plantation and the owner insisted on giving us freshly picked red capsicum peppers. They were more like fruit, so crisp, juicy and sweet!
the next day the guys left for Penang Island while i stayed an extra morning to spend some time with Clair before meeting them over there. We just visited a garden and village complex and spent an hour or so walking amongst some amazing flowers. For some random reason there was an English Cottage tucked away in the complex, although am not sure which part of England they took their design from! More thumbnails ...

Managed to get up to date now with your travels. Looking forward to seeing some more of your pictures. Have only just graduated to a digital myself although I did buy a cheapish ine last year but decided it was crap and returned it. Slowly getting to grips with all the functions, I don't know how we managed without mini video clips before.
Bye for now
