Stateroom: We were spoiled. We were told we would be getting an inside cabin as an AMC host (what Cunard generally gives to escorts). As luck would have it, the ship was sold out and we were given a Q2 Deluxe Apartment, Queen Mary Suite (#10004). Most of these apartments are two stories, but being in the front of the ship, ours was just one BIG suite, 1200 square feet. My knees appreciated not having to climb stairs to go to bed. Our closet was as big as one of our guest bedrooms at home. We had a butler, three TVs with DVD player and a library of DVDs to choose from at the VIP Concierge lounge for Grill passengers. Our living room was like a flying bridge giving us a view to the front, side and aft plus a balcony that held two lounge chairs, two deck chairs and two tables. We had a semi-private elevator that would take us to the beauty salon, the Canyon Ranch spa, the Commodore Club and the Observation Deck and Card Room. Our room key made it stop at our room. It was the scenic elevator, so we shared it sometimes and startled people as it stopped at Deck 10.
We did visit a Sheltered Balcony. The Sheltered Balcony was like a balcony with an open picture window, which wasn't too appealing with the Caribbean as the destination. I can see that it would be beneficial on Transatlantic sailings and during rough seas. The stateroom was spacious with plenty of closet and storage, definitely a good value. The Interior staterooms were also spacious.
