What I did
Anyways This will most likely be my last post because the next two days I dont think you will care too much about it, I spend all day today getting back to amsterdam and all day tomorrow getting back to the U S of A! I know you will all miss getting my play by play, but try to hold back the tears! :)
What I learned about the Czech!
1) They Love rich, hearty, meat and potatoes! (very midwestern) but not good for the figure!
2) Unlike Germany there is a lot of littering, and it seems even worse after the Trash truck goes through.... strange
3) It seem normal to teach your toddler boys to drop their pants and pee when they have the urge... on a train platform, the wall of a church... hmmmm
Okay so for my last real site seeing day, Kel and I decided to take a train about an hour away to a small town called Kunta Hora. Back in the Medieval Ages it had the possibility of becoming the capital because they found silver and it became a fairly rich town and a few castles and cathedrals were built, but when the silver ran out so did their source of income and people moved to Prague. Today its a very cute little town with some CREEPY stuff!
We first went to the Kostnice Sedlec Church, which use to be a graveyard and apparently they had an abundance of human BONES! like 100,000 people worth of bones and not knowing what to do with the bones, they decorated the inside of the church with them of course! Lets just say I have never seen anything like this is any of my travels!
We then headed into town to the Silver Museum. Here they have guided tours only and they tell you that most of the tour is down in the actual silver mines dug in the Middle Ages! So we think this might be fun. This also turned into one of my most unique experiences!
We then headed up to the Cathedral that was built by the son of the man who built the main cathedral in Prague so it was fun to see the similarities! They also had a little vineyard up there so it is quite possible that Kel and I enjoy a local glass of wine before heading back to Prague!
For dinner we went to a fancy meat restaurant know for a specific cow raised in the Czech and outside the restaurant was a Chicago cow! not really but it sure looked like it!
Well soon I need to start traveling across continent so I can make it back to chicago! This has been an amazing trip and I hope you enjoyed reading about it! I sure liked that people tuned in and responded, it made me feel like I wasn't completely traveling alone so thanks for coming along! :)
Things I am looking forward to:
1) my Bed with airconditioning!!!
2) It being illegal for bikes to ride on the sidewalks
3) SUSHI!! mmmmmmm
4) oddly midwestern chivalry!
5) watching the Twins!
6) and of course you guys!
