The Garden City
Entry 28 of 40 | show all | print this entry |
With only one night in Christchurch, I decided to make the most of it and headed out with some friends from the Kiwi Experience Bottom Bus. As usual, I was the only American, this time with 5 Brits. Together we made fun of an embarrassing, loud American girl who burst into the bar - why must people reinforce stereotypes??? They were endlessly amused by the fact that I was a cheerleader in high school, something that I still can't believe I admitted. It must have been pint number 3 that loosened my lips a bit too much. The curiosity continued when they heard I'd been in a sorority. We had a good laugh about all of it. I had a great time "taking the piss" (being made fun of in a good way).
Had a great night out, caught a taxi home because they have a "little problem with prostitution and drugs" in the 4 blocks between the bars and my backpacker, and headed off the next morning for Kaikoura.
Maybe I'm getting a little burned out with seeing beautiful place after beautiful place (I know, cry me a river), but I was ready to just move on. I'll snap out of it soon - I'm just tired of being cold after having such beautiful weather for so long. No worries, I'll be on the North Island in no time.
