Day 4 - Temple of Heaven and Wandfujing Street

Seeing that this is our last official day in China, we wanted to take it pretty easy to rest up for our 24+ hours of traveling the next day. I was in between going to the Temple of Heaven or the Summer Palace. When I asked downstairs in the lobby of the hotel, they advised that they were both nice, but that the Temple of Heaven was closer so we chose to go there. Our first tour of a historic place without a tour guide...more reading for us =) The place was beautiful and I loved how symbolic and meaningful things were in Ancient China. The Emperor used the Temple of Heaven to get away from the problems and meditate and worship.

After the Temple of Heaven, we went to a place called Wandfujing Street (or something like that). We heard it was a long street with a lot of little shops and places to eat. At first I was excited to be walkng through a popular area where a lot of residents go until I saw their 'delicacies'. After seeing them Jose asked me, "So, are you hungry or did you lose your appetite?' Let's just say I wasn't hungry. I guess it's the way we're brought up here in the states to think these creatures are 'disgusting,' but it's too late to change my mind now at my old age of 28! LOL. Some pictures are below.

So, after seeing this, I kind of just wanted to go to the hotel and vegetate and that's what we did. Relax and eat at the Hotel Club Lounge (no bugs) to prepare for our journey back home to America.
Some final words: Other than their fine food cuisines which I can do without  , I love China and think everyone should go visit.
