We arrived in to Milan very late as our flight was delayed and ended up arriving at our hotel at 2 in the morning. We decided to take the train to Lake Como, about 40 minutes from Milan. We arrived to a beautiful day in by the lake and spent the day wandering around the towns cobbled streets, and by the lakeshore. We caught a funicular to the top of a nearby hill to get a great view of the lake, town and surrounding areas. We topped all this off with gelato (because you have to when in Italy!). We arrived back in Milan with enough time to explore the Duomo Square with the massive Duomo and beautiful surrounding buildings. We managed to stumble across the best pizza in Milan (according to the people at the next table) and enjoyed our first pizza on this trip to Italy.
