After a nice big breakfast in Venice beach we started driving to Sequoia, on the way we visited Corcoran a small faming town. Corcoran is Al's last name and he was very excited to be in his namesake town (we have since discovered that there is another Corcoran in Minnesota, but that will have to wait until another trip), we had lunch and wandered down the main street looking for any merchandise with 'Corcoran' on it. Finally managed to find a uniform shop for the state prison which is based in Corcoran and managed to pick up some Corcoran bits and pieces there. We continued on to Vasalia and stayed the night before heading on to Sequoia.
Our first stop in Sequoia was the world's largest tree (in volume at least). We then took a walk in the general vicinity until a low mist came upon us and we decided to find our hotels, as we had booked at the last minute we were staying in a little bungalow a little way from where Claire and Al were staying and they dropped us off, had dinner in the restaurant and went home. The next morning after breakfast we headed to Kings Canyon National Park and saw the beautiful views in this area. We had a great time stalking deer - for pictures, walking through the woods and taking in the beautiful views. About mid afternoon, it started to snow so we headed back to our bungalow for a rest, dinner and bed.
Claire and Al dropped us off in Fresno so that we could catch a plane through to Vegas, and headed on their way to Yellowstone National Park.
