Woke up to more glorious weather and readied ourselves for another hike. After a quick walk around Colle with Stephanie, Angelica and a few others, we walked out of town, across the valley, back in the direction of San Gimignano. We ended up at Croce Di Bibbiano, a charming vineyard and winery run by Sonia, her husband Lucca and their partners.
Sonia, a beautiful and interesting woman, took us on a tour of their operation and showed us around. If I remember correctly, her mother is Arabian, she was raised in Germany, married an Italian and speaks excellent English. She's and amazing and interesting person!
She let us taste their wines and served a delicious lunch, set out in a room decorated with flags from each Contrada in Siena.
We had an option to either take the bus home or walk home...so, being the die-hards that we are, we decided to walk. It was tiring...but we made it. As usual, the scenery was so beautiful that it made it all worthwhile. Plus, we rewarded ourselves with a gelato when we got back...and then dinner was at a local pizzeria. Delicious!
Quite a day, filled with breathtaking sights and warm, friendly people. We continue to have the time of our lives!

Geese on a stroll
The ribollita that she served was delicious...and we were very impressed with their wine. In fact, after lunch, we ordered a case to be shipped home! It's expensive to ship...but it will be a little gift to ourselves that we can enjoy once we get home and start missing Italy! We had an option to either take the bus home or walk home...so, being the die-hards that we are, we decided to walk.
