Mountains, Lakes, Snow, Forest... And Quadbikes!

This morning we went quadbiking. And again, we we the only ones on the tour which made it even more personal. Mum i and i shared a quadbike where i drove because Mum didnt want to - but she ended up with sor arms for a couple of days from hanging on the back!!
It was great! We went through all types of terrain - rocky rivers, muddy paddocks, rain forest and with amazing scenery in the back ground.
The tour guide gave us some info on the area and turns out that the snow ranges here are National Park so you can go up and ski / board when ever you like at no cost! Also as i mentioned yesturday - the ocean for surfing. This guy has travelled and lived in various parts of Aus and has chosen to live here.
Quad biking
After a well deserved breakfast in Franz Josef we made our we to Lake Matherson - a huge lake , again with stunning views. You can walk the whole lake which takes about 1-2 hours (we did about a quater).
After that we went up to the famous Fox Glacier. Amazing gorges.
You can walk close to the glacier. They also have a lot of scenic flights and helicopter landings (Dad u would like this job) in the area.
Then it was on the road to Wanaka. I never got bored of the road trips because it was always an enjoyable one and plenty to see along the way. The drive in to Wanaka was different again around the massive lakes and through the mountain pass. And that night we had dinner at a lovely restuarant over looking Lake Wanaka.
