It's me again.
Getting ready to leave and just can't believe 2 months have past since I was last here.
Gone like a flash, a mad rush, and I'm so looking forward to Clédat.
For a very sad reason we shall be leaving some days later than planned. More than ever I realize we must seize the day, tune in to the good things and never cease to feel the wonder of life.
Well, now I'm going to sort out the reception of Dutch and English telly in Clédat. Wasted on me, but for the benefit of our lodgers.
Apparently it's a bit tricky, not totally legal for reasons that escape me. I might even have to tell a lie, that is understood, everybody must to get the stupid connection, it's the only way round. But I'm not good at lying and I don't like it, even though it's expected.
So if I manage to pull it off that could be considered a wonder.
And I can't find much joy in the fact that my bike has been nicked. Of course, in Amsterdam it's never a question of if, but when will your bike disappear. This time it was after only a couple of weeks, and I loved that bike, it was perfect.
I once owned a brand new bike for a few hundred yards. Wheeled it out of the shop, went to fetch my shopping bag - yes, of course I locked it! - came out of the house 2 minutes later and it was gone!
After how many bikes stolen are you entitled to help yourself to one, do you think?
Tempting - but I'm too much of a coward.
Ok, I'm off and the tram it is.
Back, and I didn't have to lie, but then I'm not sure we were talking about the same thing.
This is gonna take some sorting out, and I haven't got the time or the inclination. Far more interesting things to do, like mopping the kitchen floor.
Why am I such a slob?
Why have I still got that dog, as it's all his fault really, hair and sand all over the place.
Yep, I'm back in the 'leaving-mode', the house is now officially declared a disaster zone, and I can feel the panic setting in.
So...........once I've got things sorted (as if that's ever going to happen) - but still, just a few more days and, and........well, I guess I'll keep you posted, ok?
