Mann River Reserve via a steep hilly road that used to be the old highway. Km 3890. Camping FEE $0
The driver and van coped well with the tough conditions.
The Mann River was hardly flowing but the area was a free overnight camping spot where Sheila made her very best camp fire yet; see photo for the magic.

We met some locals from a nearby holiday house who told us about the poor cow stuck in the mud a little way upstream and no one had been able to remove it. Poor creature looked spaced out and without hope; the image remains with us.

Took out the books and had a lovely lazy reading afternoon; noticed the bush and march flies are making an early appearance and persistently try to stick on you! Oh well lots more of that to come!

Kath saw her first fire flies ever; apparently they are common around this time of the year.
