We also spent time doing stuff other than eat. The Cable Car Museum was tops and free to boot. Shopping wasn't free.
On a strange note (it was to me anyway) there was heaps of Christmas kitsch. That's obviously not the weird bit. What was strange though, was that I enjoyed it for some reason, usually I feel like a Scrooge.
Our last stop on the Western side of the states and the first lengthy one in a US city. This meant we were able to split up and do our own thing a bit which was good and probably necessary. We also caught up with JoAnne and Carolyn (family friends through mum). Every time that anyone visits JoAnne there is also a mandatory ice-cream lunch at Giradelli's so we did that too. Actually, there were a few culinary highlights, especially for those craving some good Thai. Pete will never be satisfied as "it's not Thai-on-Wok" but the Thai Restaurant we went to was bloody good after two and a half months without. Clam Chowder is nice.
