Mel woke feeling a bit better but still no energy so Mum and Mel spent day in hotel room. The others came back from their outing and we decided to go over the road for tea. We ordered our meal. Before it got to the table, Mum got up and walked out, going back to the hotel. She was now sick. We didn't think she was too bad so we went to the light show. Mum was worse when we got back so I had to sleep in Nana and Pa's room so Nana could spend the night with Mum.
The following is written by someone else but talks about the show we saw which is mostly performed on the river that we caughter the raft on this morning.
At the beginning, the lights are all turned off - as the lights come up, the twelve hills appear in front of the audients; and a small fishing boat is rowed from the hills.
Hundreds of bamboo rafts with golden fishing lights are spreading all over the river.
Over 200 Zhuang girls form a long column across the bridge over the Li River. Their silver dresses make the river shimmer in a mysterious manner.
Additionally, there are in excess of 600 performers, all of whom are local people of the Li River.
