As of tomorrow my backpack, fanny pack (yes I said it) and over tote will be stuck to me like glue. With that said, I can't wait for the journey to begin! lol I hope some of you decide to follow and I hope there's internet access so that I can continue to blog.
Also, I'm pretty sure tomorrow we'll be flying over the North Pole, for a couple minutes there I'm going to be on top of the world.. what a feelingg I can't describe : )
As I'm packing my one carry on suitcase for a three week journey I'm thinking, "Is this all I really need!?" I think thats why I was drawn to this trip in the first place, nothing is laid down in stone and each day is a mystery. Of course we have an itinerary and destinations to reach but there's something in the "unknown" of this program that strikes me. I don't know what I'm getting myself into, what I'm going to find there, or what I'm going to be studying and that's the beauty of it; I won't know until I get there. What I do know is that I'm voluntarily throwing myself into a culture in which all my American habits won't work. I'm going to have to adapt to a lifestyle in which patience will be my best virtue, my cell phone will be non-existant and the everyday routine of blowdrying and straightening my hair will be a thing of the past.
